(NEWS CENTER Maine) — Plows were out early in southern Maine as schools called off classes giving many Maine students their second snow day of the year and it is only November!

The Maine Turnpike lowered the speed limit to 45 mph on I-95 starting at the New Hampshire border up to Augusta early in the morning on Tuesday, Nov. 20.
The snow is expected to fall all day long across most of the state.

With Thanksgiving just a couple days away, Tuesday and Wednesday are some of the busiest travel days of the year. As of 6:00 a.m. flights at the Portland International Jetport and the Bangor International Airport were all on-time.
