(NEWS CENTER) — Thousands were without power Thursday throughout the state.
A tree fell on a house on St. John Street that afternoon. It left several holes in the roof, but no one was injured.
The home is owned by a licensed arborist. He no longer does it professionally, but he used to work in South Portland.
Most of the outages are in Kennebec, Oxford and York counties. Many towns in Maine recorded wind gusts of more than 50 mph.
