(NEWS CENTER) — Hurricane Hermine has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm since making landfall in Florida.
But the National Hurricane Center is still warning everyone living along the East Coast to pay attention to the storm as it moves north this Labor Day weekend.
The US Coast Guard is also warning mariners and beachgoers here in Maine to be prepared for rough seas.
They say swells are expected to hit the area late Sunday and remain into Monday.
Officials say even if the sun is shining when you leave, the weather can turn in an instant and catch you off guard.
The warnings aren't meant to ruin holiday plans that involve the ocean. officials say they are a reminder to always be cautious and prepared.
