A cold front moved through northern New England on Wednesday followed by strong northwest winds that brought a reinforcing shot of cold air into our region. The winds should die down tonight allowing temperatures to plummet under a clear sky. Just about everyone will have below zero figures by morning with the valleys coming in at about -20. Thursday will start out with plenty of sunshine and remain that way until high cloudiness moves in during the afternoon. I expect temperatures to top out in the teens with single numbers in the mountains. A weak area of low pressure should put more clouds in the sky on Friday as it passes by to our north. Despite this temperatures promise to be warmer that day with highs closer to 30 degrees. The low will drag a cold front through New England Friday night so temperatures over the weekend most likely won't get above freezing. Saturday is looking mostly sunny with more clouds on tap for Sunday. There are no storms systems on the horizon.
