Very muggy air is now in place across northern New England and it won't be going away until a cold front works its way through our region. Showers and thunderstorms have been breaking out in the humid air mass and these will continue tonight into Saturday. Heavy rainfall from these storms could cause rivers and stream to rise very quickly so the NWS has issued a Flood Watch which is in effect until Saturday morning. The cold front is expected to move through our region during the day on Sunday keeping the threat of showers and thunderstorms in the forecast for the entire weekend. Drier air will finally arrive here Sunday night setting the stage for a couple of quiet days on Monday and Tuesday. The tranquility will be short lived as there appears to be another slow moving frontal system in the cards for the second half of next week.
