Right now we are sitting in meteorological limbo with a ridge of high pressure situated to our north and a stalled out frontal system south of us. Last night an area of low pressure moved along the front and brought some heavy rainfall to southern locations. Portland and Laconia recorded over an inch of precipitation while Augusta only received .02 inches. Several more disturbances are expected to move along the front this weekend keeping the threat of showers or thunderstorms in our forecast for both Saturday and Sunday. There will be variable cloudiness between the disturbances and the farther north you go the more sunshine you should see. By Monday the high is expected to finally sink southward out of Canada bringing more sunshine and keeping any precipitation south of us. The high may hang on for Tuesday but once it moves east get ready for another stretch of unsettled weather next week.
