WALTHAM, Mass. (NEWS CENTER) - Chris Babb was rarely a big-time scorer for the Maine Red Claws, but he showed enough in his time there as well as his time with the Celtics a reserve to convince the NBA franchise to keep him for the foreseeable future.

After a pair of ten-day contracts, the rookie guard out of Iowa State, Boston signed Babb to a multi-year contract. Terms ofthe deal weren't disclosed.

He's appeared in six games with the Celtics averaging 2.2 points in 11 minutes of action.

Babb started 29 of his 33 games with Maine leading the team in minutes played averaging 37.5 per game where added 12 points and more than 6 rebounds a contest.
