A Danish travel company has a plan to tackle the nation's declining birth rate. And, well, let's just say they're not reinventing the wheel.
In a funny new advertisement, Spies Rejser encourages Danes to have more sex.
Denmark has the lowest birth rate in 27 years, according to the "Do it for Denmark" campaign the travel company launched Wednesday. "The Danish government has not found a solution," the ad says. "But there has to be one."
That solution, according to the company, is to travel, see your partner in the light of a different city and get romantic.
The ad claims that Danes have 46% more sex on vacation and that 10% of all Danish children are conceived on getaways. It's unclear where these stats came from, so take them with a grain of salt.
And if a new arrival and doing your patriotic duty isn't enough, Spies Rejser is sweetening the deal.
"Book your holiday with our ovulation discount. Get it on. And prove you conceived a child to win a three-year supply of baby stuff and a child friendly holiday," it says.
But if you've already had children or can't have children, don't despair, the company says.
"Just remember all the fun is in the participation."
