AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A fire in Auburn left two people without a home Thursday night.
The Auburn Fire Department responded to a fire on the second floor of a building on Riverside Dr. in Auburn just after 7 p.m. The road was closed for about an hour because of the fire.
Captain Scott Pray with the Auburn Fire Department said crews saw heavy smoke pouring from the windows of the building when they arrived. A fire alarm was going off on the second floor when crews arrived at the part of the building that was on fire. The fire was knocked down quickly.
No injuries were reported.
Capt. Pray said the fire did not spread to the structure of the building. Only contents of a room on the second floor were on fire. The building was not a total loss, there was minimal damage to the first and third floors.
