FREEPORT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Freeport Flag Ladies have maintained their weekly tradition of waving American flags since right after 9-11. The women stand at the intersection of Main and School streets every Tuesday, but this Tuesday one of the three members will be absent.
Carmen hasn't missed a Tuesday morning flag waving since she started, but she recently had open heart surgery. According to their Facebook page, the Intensive Care Unit will release Carmen sometime Tuesday.
In her honor, the other two flag wavers, JoAnn and Elaine, are asking people to attend the flag flying in her honor.
