AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The University of Maine Augusta is gearing up to take part in a dace competition that benefits breast cancer awareness and support programs. It's called the "Pink Glove Dance". For the next several months faculty, staff and students will put together a video, with the help of staff and patients at the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care. It;s going to be a lot of work... but it's being spearheaded by a long-time UMA e,ployee who was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago, and is determined to spread the word about the importance of early detection.
The group first must raise $2000 and donate it to a local breast cancer care group. They have chosen the Alfond Center.

Voting will be in Sept.. And the winner chosen in October.
