Amanda Morin is a former educator, she's a mother of two children with special needs and she is currently an advocate for special needs kids, working with parents to help get kids the education they need.

She has authored a book on the subject of advocating for your kid and has a lot of tips on identifying, evaluating, measuring and speaking-up-for a child who may learn in a different way than other kids -- and every kid is different. The book is expansive and deals not just with children's interactions with school, but how the law is involved and how to keep up with your kid.
