PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Members of Cumberland County Government took part in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge on Wednesday afternoon.
About a dozen Courthouse employees, including County Manager Peter Crichton got soaked to raise money and awareness for ALS.
They are challenging all government employees in Maine's 16 counties to take part in the ice bucket challenge.
"I am putting a call out to my colleagues around the state: County Managers, County Administrators, County Clerks and also Town and City Managers," said County Manager Peter Crichton. "I'm on the board for the Maine Town, City, County Management Association. So I hope that they'll all take this challenge. And I'm also putting a call out to my colleagues around the country who belong to the National Association of County Administrators."
At the same time, members of the Emergency Management Agency and Regional Communications Center were in on the challenge. Together with the Sheriff's Office, the departments have raised almost a thousand dollars for ALS.
