MEXICO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that the man who died after a standoff in Mexico did not die from self-inflicted wounds.
The Medical Exmainer said Steven Piirainen's cause of death was found to be from gunshot wounds to the neck and chest.
The Attorney's General's investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released.
The two officers who fired at Piirainen were State Trooper Paul Casey and Mexico Reserve Officer Dean Benson. They are currently on administrative leave, which is standard for the incident.
