BRUNSWICK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A 12-year-old girl went to the hospital Saturday after a sleepy driver crashed into a tree.

Police say 72-year-old Thomas McDine was driving on Lunt Road in Brunswick when he drove off the road and crashed.

His passenger, a 12-year-old, was taken by LightFlight to Maine Medical Center. Her injuries are described as non-life threatening.

McDine was transported to MidCoast Hospital. His injuries are also considered non-life threatening.

Police say it appears the cause of the crash was fatigue. The incident is still under investigation.
