SOMERSWORTH, N.H. (NEWS CENTER) -- Police found a missing Berwick woman and two AWOL teens Wednesday evening, but when they confronted the woman, she resisted officers' attempts to take her.

Somersworth Police said a tip came in around 6:45 p.m. that said 18-year-old Ashley Matthews and two boys, ages 17 and 16, were eating at Villa Pizza on Market Street. Police arrived and blocked off entryways.

"When we approached her, she was more than mildly annoyed," said Somersworth Captain Russell Timmons.

Police ended up charging Matthews with assault and resisting arrest. After gaining control of her, they took her and the two boys to the police station. The boys surrendered without incident.

Police asked for the public's help with the Matthews search Wednesday morning after she had been missing for five days. The boys both live in the Malley Farm Boys Home, a group home for boys whose parents cannot properly provide for them. Police said they had been listed as AWOL.

Matthews made bail and her mother took her home, said police. One of the boys was picked up and the other returned to the group home.
