JAY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) – The Town of Jay lifted a boil-water order Monday after a waterline broke on Smith Avenue Friday morning.

Crews worked for 24 hours to make repairs, and water had to then be tested for E.coli and coliform bacteria before the order could be lifted.

According to town officials, both the Jay Village Water District and the North Jay Water District are not entities run by the town, but are Quasi Municipalities managed by a board of trustees.

Any residents with questions or concerns about water services should contact their offices at 207-645-2912.
