LINCOLN, Maine(NEWS CENTER) -- A group of motorcycle riders raised about $2,000 for the Bangor Humane Society. More than 60 bikers hit the road Saturday for the second annual Furry Friends ride.

They started at the humane society and made their way up to Lincoln for a quick pit stop. The ride ended at 4Points BBQ in Winterport.

"These animals can't help themselves. They don't have a family they can look to, so it means a lot to us to raise money for, basically, the helpless," one of the event's founders, John Ramirez, said.

The Bangor Humane Society said the money is very helpful, especially this time of year when there is a waiting list for animals to get into the shelter.
