BOSTON, Massachusetts (NEWS CENTER) -- The FBI's Boston Division said they are looking for Maine man who is wanted in connection to a Hallowell bank robbery.

The FBI said a federal arrest warrant was issued for John Cecil Slater, 66, of Augusta after the FBI executed a search warrant on his property. He is a suspect in the June 23 Bank of Maine robbery. He allegedly entered the bank, made verbal threats, demanded money, and then fled the bank. He did not show a weapon, but the FBI consider Slater to be armed and dangerous.

The FBI and Maine State Police have been unable to locate Slater. His last listed address is in Augusta. He is 66 years old, approximately 5'11" feet tall, 200 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. Slater has tattoos on both arms, and has a left hand deformity due to a previous injury. At the time of the robbery, the FBI said he was allegedly wearing a straw hat, blue shirt, brown suit jacket, brown pants and brown shoes.

The FBI warn that anyone in contact with SLATER should use extreme caution. Anybody with information is asked to contact the FBI (617) 742-5533, or the Hallowell or Augusta police departments stated above in this release. Tips also can be submitted online at https://tips.fbi.gov.
