BANGOR (NEWS CENTER) -- Police in Bangor are reminding people to lock their doors, after a series of break-ins. Authorities are investigating a number of residential and motor vehicle burglaries that happened late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. The burglaries happened on the east side of Bangor, on Poplar Street, Nowell Road, Grant Street, Judson Boulevard and Maple Street.

Bangor Police say there is a pattern in the break-ins. In most cases, the burglar went into the victims' homes or garages through an unlocked door. Once inside they took items which were near the door, things like money, wallets and car keys. In several cases, they then used the keys to access the victim's cars and take items.

It appears as though the person or persons involved in the burglaries were on foot, going from house to house. Police are asking anyone who saw anything suspicious in the areas affected after midnight Wednesday morning to call the Bangor Police Department at 947-7384. If you know who may have been involved in these burglaries and would like to remain anonymous, you can call the department's tip line at 947-7384 ext 6.
