CARIBOU, Maine (NEWS CENTER) – The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency says they arrested and charged a 47 year old Caribou man with trafficking in meth.
MDEA took Keith Tingley Jr. of Caribou into custody Friday night, charging him with Class B trafficking of methamphetamine, a schedule W drug.
MDEA's Aroostook Task Force and the Clandestine Drug Laboratory Enforcement Team executed a search warrant at Tingley Jr's Old Washburn Road residence after Maine State Police notified the agency of a possible meth operation at the home. State police were executing an unrelated search warrant when the meth operation was discovered.
State Police say the warrant was executed around 7 Friday night. Officials say a significant amount of evidence which is consistent with illicit manufacturing of methamphetamine was seized.
The MDEA said the CDLET was assisted in the investigation by Maine State Police, Caribou Police Department, Aroostook County Sheriff's Department and the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.
State Police say Tingley Jr. was released Saturday morning on $20,000 bail.
Officials add this is the tenth time MDEA personnel have responded to meth lab related incidents in Maine so far in 2014.
