PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- After four long months of winter, the cold has overstayed its welcome for many in Maine. That's keeping travel agents busy.
The phones at Hurley Travel Experts have been ringing off the hook. They say on top of booking trips, it's been a busy winter trying to keep up with cancelled and delayed flights every time there's a storm. Senior Travel Advisor Beth Skypeck says she has new clients calling all the time because they are so desperate to escape to a warm climate.
"We're now getting a call two weeks, three weeks in advance, maybe a month in advance from people saying, 'I cannot stand it one more minute, I need to get out of here!'
Skypeck says Hurley's leisure travel sales are up 9% over last year.
