MOSCOW, Maine(NEWS CENTER) -- The Somerset County Sheriff's Office is investigating a stabbing that happened early Saturday morning in Moscow.

The Sheriff's Office said they responded to a home on Pierce Hill Road in Moscow just before 2 a.m. Saturday for the report of an assault.

When police arrived on scene, they determined that a fight broke out between two brothers at the home, resulting in one brother being allegedly stabbed by the other.

Authorities said the injured brother was taken to Redington Fairview General Hospital with a serious stab wound to his back, but as of 4:30 a.m. Saturday was listed in stable condition.

The Sheriff's Office said the victim's brother, 27-year-old Nathan Cocoran from Moscow, was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Police said the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and further charges are possible pending a review from the District Attorney's Office.
