LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- While most sports fans are focused on March Madness, another college championship is being played right here in Maine.

The NCAA Division III Hockey Championships are being held at the Colisee in Lewiston. Teams and fans from around the country have traveled to the state to watch the games, and that means players, coaches and fans spending money in Lewiston and Auburn. The championship is expected to generate millions of dollars for the region.

"You know it's been a long cold winter and this is a terrific boost, probably at a time when everybody could really use it" Lewiston Deputy City Administrator told NEWS CENTER.

The final game between St. Norbert and the University of Wisconsin Stephens Point starts at 7 p.m.
