PARIS, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A mother is talking publicly Tuesday for the first time after her 16-year-old son was killed in a hit-and-run.

A vehicle hit Xavier Fuentes Saturday night while he waswalking along a dark stretch of Route 117, also known as Buckfield Road, in South Paris. Three days after the incidient, police said they have two people of interest.

Fuentes mother is looking for closure, and for answers. She believes a person coming forward can give her that.

Although the police now have two persons of interest that they are searching for, they are still urging the public to come forward with any information.

His mother said it appears her son had an argument with some family members at the movies on Saturday night, and she said since he doesn't like conflict, he likely wanted to get away.

Fuentes began walking home to Turner, believing that his relatives would eventually pick him up.

The family is offering a $1,500reward for information that can lead investigators to the driver of the vehicle. A memorial fund has also been set up at Noway Savings Bank in Norway, in Xavier Fuentes' name.
