PORTLAND, Maine (AP) -- A Berwick man has pleaded guilty in federal court to participating in a series of bank robberies in New Hampshire and Maine.
Phillip Gage pleaded guilty on Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Portland to armed robbery and gun charges.
Prosecutors say Gage was one of four men who robbed banks in Eliot and Sanford as well as Somersworth, N.H., and Exeter, N.H., between August and October.
Prosecutors say in two of the robberies, Gage brandished a handgun, and in two others he claimed to have a bomb.
The four robberies netted more than $40,000 combined.
Gage was the last of the four suspects to plead guilty.
He faces a maximum of 25 years in prison on each armed robbery charge at sentencing, which has not been scheduled.
