PERU, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - State Police say a standoff in Peru ended at 4:30 Sunday morning with the arrest of 40-year-old Corey Taylor.
Maine Public Safety Spokesperson Steve McCausland says State Police were called to Taylor's residence after he had threatened a family member. Police responded by sending a negotiator and a tactical team to ensure the public's safety.
Route 108 was closed from Canton to Rumford during the standoff. It was re-opened Sunday morning.
McCausland said it was unclear if Taylor was armed during the standoff. Taylor was arrested and charged with domestic violence threatening and domestic violence terrorizing.
An Oxford County Jail official says Taylor has been arrested on similar charges before and that he is "known" to the Sheriff's Department.
