GARDINER, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The shooting took place at this duplex at about 12:25am on 32 Spring Street.

Police say two couples had been hanging out together all night at the downstairs apartment.

They say 30-year old Paul Coyne shot the 26-year old victim in the leg who lived in the apartment. Police say both men had been arguing and alcohol may have played a role.

Police say Coyne fled in a car driven by his girl friend.

The Maine Department of Correctionsestablished a command center at the Adult Probation Office in Augustawhere they usedinvestigators and probation officers to search for Mr. Coyne.

Paul Coyne was arrested around 2:00am this morning. He was found with his girlfriend and another relative. A handgun and some drugs were recovered.

Mr. Coyne will be in court this morning.
