LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --A43-year oldman has been charged with aggravated criminal threatening and reckless conduct with a firearm, following a shooting in Lewiston Monday morning.

Jerome Hudson lives in an apartment on Fisher Avenue with a woman and her children. Police say he had gotten into a fight with the father of those children just before 8am Monday, when that fight escalated and he shot at the father. He missed, but both men fled the scene.

Neighbors say a number of children were outside during the shooting, waiting for the school bus. While police started a search for Hudson, an on-site daycare went into lockdown mode, telling parents not to drop their children off, and another daycare up the street kept it's doors locked and quickly shuffled it's children off to school.

Hours after the shooting, police arrested Jerome Hudson. He's charged with aggravated criminal threatening and reckless conduct with a firearm, but police say due to his criminal background in Massachusetts, more charges could come.
