SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KSL) -- An intruder had to ask for help from the occupants of the Salt Lake City, Utah home he was trying to burglarize after he severely cut himself on the window he broke to get inside, police say.

Just after 6 a.m. Thursday a 20-year-old man broke a window at the home according to Salt Lake police detective Dennis McGowan.

As the man crawled through the window, a shard of glass caused a "large and deep" cut to one of his arms.

The three adults inside the home, including Pablo Solorio, woke up to the sound of the shattering glass.
