AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - Maine State Police have arrested two people in connection with the theft of firearms, a pickup truck and an ATV.

Officials have arrested 20-year-old George Sproul of Limington and 20-year-old Harley Herman of Sanford with three counts of burglary and receiving stolen property.

Police say most of the burglaries are believed to have taken place on or about September 20th. They say in one burglary they encountered the homeowner who was armed with a firearm. They are accused of stealing 4 firearms, a pickup truck, ATV, computers, TV's, and jewelry.

They are also accused to have committed a burglary in Alton Bay, NH. in which a pickup truck, ATV, and firearm were stolen. Police say the items were recovered in the area of the Sand Pond Rd. in Limington. State Police say the pair would pick homes in which no cars were in the driveway and would kick in doors to gain entry.

Police say more charges and more arrests are expected. The pair are being held at the York County Jail on $15,000 cash bail.
