LIMESTONE, Maine(NEWS CENTER) -- A Florida man who set the world record for fastest speed on a motorcycle two years ago waskilled Sunday morning in Limestone, trying to break that record.

NEWS CENTER's Bill Green was there and spoke with Bill Warner minutes beforethe crash. A race official reported that Warnerwas traveling more than 270 miles per hour during a speed trial at the former Loring Air Force Base runway.

Warner was conscious and talking as he was taken away from the scene by ambulance, but was pronounced dead atCary Medical Center in Caribou less than an hour later.
