WALTHAM, Mass. (AP) -

The Boston Celtics have introduced new head coach Brad Stevens with general manager Danny Ainge saying the 36-year old was his first choice to replace Doc Rivers.

Stevens left Butler after six seasons for the NBA job and says coaching the Celtics is an honor.

Stevens says he has already reached out to Celtics star point guard Rajon Rondo. Boston is in rebuilding-mode and Rondo is coming off a major knee injury.
