Wimbledon, England (Sports Network) - David Ferrer was among the second-round winners Friday at Wimbledon.
The fourth-seeded Ferrer overcame Roberto Bautista Agut, 6-3, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 7-5 on Court 1 in just the 10th all-Spanish bout at the All England Club and first since 2009.
The second round was scheduled to conclude on Thursday, but rain postponed or suspended five matches. Inclement weather disrupted play again Friday.
Ferrer, the French Open runner-up earlier this month, will next face 26th- seeded Ukrainian Alexandr Dolgopolov, who cruised past Colombia's Santiago Giraldo, 6-4, 7-5, 6-3.
Meanwhile, 13th-seeded German Tommy Haas dismissed Jimmy Wang of Chinese Taipei, 6-3, 6-2, 7-5, 28th-seeded Frenchman Jeremy Chardy battled past German Jan-Lennard Struff, 6-2, 5-7, 7-6 (8-6), 7-6 (7-4), and Slovenia's Grega Zemlja outlasted 29th-seeded Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, 3-6, 7-6 (7-4), 3-6, 6-4, 11-9. Chardy will face No. 1 seed Novak Djokovic in the third round.
