Wimbledon, England (Sports Network) - Another top-10 women's seed has been dispatched at Wimbledon.
Estonia's Kaia Kanepi rallied to beat German Angelique Kerber, the No. 7 seed, by a 3-6, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 score on Friday. Kerber was a semifinalist at the All England Club last year.
The second-round match was one of three postponed by rain on Thursday. The weather was a factor again Friday, delaying the start of play on the outside courts until shortly after 1:30 PM local time.
British crowd favorite Laura Robson was able to reach the third round at Wimbledon for the first time with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Colombia's Mariana Duque-Marino under the closed roof on Centre Court before the rain subsided.
American Alison Riske also was a second-round winner as she battled back to oust Poland's Urszula Radwanska, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
