ORONO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- 2 boys from Bangor High School are using their talents on the links to spread their love of the game of golf. Drew Powell and Cavan Hagerty are playing 100 rounds of golf at Penobscot Valley Country Club in Orono to raise money for First Tee, an organization that exposes young people to the game of golf.

The boys say they chose First Tee because the group doesn't just teach fundamentals, but also etiquette and values of the game.

Drew and Cavan started playing at 4:30am on Thursday and had played 72 holes about 12 hours later. They hope to finish before it gets dark outside.

As of 4:00pm on Thursday, the duo says they've raised about $3000. They hope to have a little more help as the evening progresses - because every time one of them hits a birdie, they raise a little more money.
