FRYEBURG, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- State and local police near Fryeburg are looking for a suspicious driver who approached two school-aged children.

We spoke to the mother of those children. She did not want us to identify her by name -- but she says the man approached her and her children in her driveway in Stow on Thursday. He demanded they get into his car to look for his lost dog.
She refused and told the man that she could give him the phone number for animal control.

The woman says she grabbed her children, brought them inside, and had her mother call police. She says the man pulled up in his car again the next day -- but she did not speak to him.

He is described as a male, about 30 years old, wearing a red sox hat, a grey sweatshirt and blue jeans.

He was driving a shiny Red Honda Civic with New Jersey plates, and the woman believes he concealed them with duct tape.
If you have information, you're asked to call either Maine State Police or Conway Police.

There was a report of that same car near Doloff Pond in Conway the day before. Police say they have not had any other reports of the man approaching children -- but they believe this report is credible, and parents should take this opportunity to talk to their kids about how to deal with strangers.
