BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Despite the snow earlier in the week, the Husson baseball team will play its scheduled home opener against UMaine-Presque Isle on Saturday. On top of that, the Eagles will also host Bates on Sunday because the Bobcats' field in Lewiston is not in playable condition.

The grounds crew started plowing snow off the turf at Winkin Complex on Thursday afternoon and will finish on Friday.

Husson head coach Jason Harvey says the team is thrilled to get its regular season schedule started.

"Today you see green pretty much on most of the field, so it's very exciting for us and our program and really, Maine," says Harvey, "We get a chance to play in the state of Maine and I think we'll be the only ones playing here this weekend."

The Eagles were picked to finish in 2nd place in the North Atlantic Conference. Conference play begins on April 4th at UMaine-Farmington.
