RAYMOND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Maine mother is asking people to help her send "words and warmth" to those affected by the Newtown school shooting last week.
Kimberly Curless is organzing a soup and book drive called "Words and Warmth from Maine," asking for dry soup ingredients to be donated in a jar with the soup recipe attached.
She is also accepting monetary donations to include a copy of the book "Tear Soup," a book for grieving families, to go along with the soups.
"I think it will say exactly who we are, and what we believe in, which is pulling together," said Curless.
She is accepting donations until January 2, and will be driving down to the Newtown to deliver to the donations on January 5.
