EAST MILLINOCKET, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Believe it or not Christmas is less than three weeks away. On Saturday at Great Northern Paper mill in East Millinocket, kids in the Katahdin region had a special visitor.

Santa Claus stopped by the paper mill to pay the kids a special visit. Kids were able to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas and have their picture taken by their parents.

Sarah Boone helped organize the event for the kids. She said even though there was a lot of work involved, it was worth it to see the looks on the kids' faces.

"It's extraordinary. It reminds us of what Christmas is really all about and getting to see the expressions on the kids' faces when they saw Santa for the first time. It really reminds you why we do things like this," Boone said.

Boone said Great Northern Paper will try and do this again next year to try and make this an annual event.
