LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - A woman from Lewiston is facing charges after police say she led them on a high speed chase.

They say that Heather Kullson sped off from a traffic stop around 6:00 PM Tuesday.

The chase led them through the Bates College area of Lewiston, then onto the turnpike and into Auburn... then back off the turnpike where she was finally stopped around 7:15 PM.

Police tried using spike mats to stop Kullson but those were ineffective and actually damaged other vehicles - including police cruisers.

Now that Kullson is in custody, she's facing charges of elducing police, arson and domestic violence assault.

Police haven't explained those last two charges.
