(NEWS CENTER) - Mainers tend to savor the unseasonable weather while wondering how long it can last.

Some people took their first motorcycle rides of the year, Fat Boy in Brunswick saw a lot of business. And people stepped outside at lunch for a quick walk.

But people who've experienced a few Maine winters know that snow and cold are never that far away.

Many people expect another blast of winter and certain famers, like Seth and Maura Kroeck at Crystal Springs Farm in Brunswick say they'd prefer to let the calendar, not the thermometer, dictate when to get seeds in the ground.

The unseasonable warmth caps off a dry and mild winter... but that's not necessarily an indicator for a hot summer. This year's winter weather is largely a by-product of La Nina, a weather system that happens in the Pacific.
