BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)-- Former Bangor Police Chief Don Winslow has had his share of health challenges in recent years. After facing head and neck cancer, he retired from the police department in 2007 when he was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. Now he's battling cancer a second time, this time in his lungs and it's inoperable. His prognosis is not very good, so some of his closest friends decided to cheer him up.
Police and firefighters, community leaders, they have all banded together to give something back to the man who has given them so much. The group performed a surprise flash mob dance on the Waterfront for Winslow on Tuesday evening as a way to say thank you for all his years of service and dedication.
