KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KSHB) -- A new amusement ride that's taller than Niagara Falls towers over the Schlitterbahn Water Park in Kansas City, Kansas.
Reaching speeds up to 60 miles-per-hour, it takes just about 11 seconds to go down. Verruckt is officially the world's largest water slide, shattering the previous record of 134.5 feet of a waterslide in Brazil. Official length is taken from the top where the rider sits, all the way to the very bottom where they exit the slide.
Guinness World Records says they recognize ordinary people doing extraordinary things, and this waterslide is a prime example.
The slide is still undergoing safety tests. It's scheduled to open to the public on May 24.
