(NEWS CENTER) -- Maine's own Trevor Bates has found himself a new home in the NFL.
The New England Patriots announced Monday afternoon the signing of the former University of Maine football player to their practice squad.
Bates, a Westbrook-native, was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the 7th round of the 2016 NFL Draft.
He played his first NFL game for the Colts on October 9th. The Colts released the 23-year-old linebacker just four days later.
