
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. --University of Maine sophomore quarterback Chris Triester has been named The Sports Network National Co-Offensive Player of the Week as announced on Monday. Treister led Maine to a 41-17 victory over Rhode Island on Saturday.
Treister set school records for completions (40) previously set by Mickey Fein in 1997 and completion percentage (87 %) which was set by Mike Buck in 1987. He had 468 yards passing and five touchdowns while also running for 35 yards and a score.
Maine continues play on Saturday when the Black Bears travel to New Hampshire for a 12 p.m. game with the winner taking the CAA North Division championship.
