Maine women fall short against Hampton

(NEWS CENTER)-- Senior guard Sigi Koizar dropped a game-high 25 points but the Black Bears came up short, dropping a 58-49 decision to Hampton in the final game of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Challenge at the Colonial Life Arena on Tuesday evening.

Koizar's 25 points moved her into ninth on Maine's all-time scoring list (1,317), surpassing Stephanie Guidi who finished her Black Bear career with 1,295 points. Koizar finished the contest 10-for-18 from the floor, hitting 3-of-8 from 3-point range, to go along with four rebounds. Koizar has now scored in double-figures 62 times and bested 20 on 21 different occasions.

The Black Bears are back in action on Sunday, Nov. 27 at 6 p.m. when they close out the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Challenge in Springfield, Mass. against UT-Chattanooga.
