LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - The Pirates got their first home win of 2014 and snapped a 47-day drought since their last victory at the Colisee, but those headlines quickly became footnotes after a brawl broke out in the final minute of the game.

Portland fell short of their recently set team record of 134 penalty minutes, but the combined total of 299 topped the previous franchise mark set 8 years ago.

There were 12 fights in total and even when some of those were trying to be separated others were just getting started.

Frustrations boiled over as Adirondack was in search of retribution for a previous hit and perhaps losing to Portland twice this weekend.

Suspensions are due to be announced in the coming days.

The Pirates are back on the ice Tuesday when they host St. John's.
