Berkeley, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Chiney Ogwumike had 29 points, eight
rebounds and four assists as No. 4 Stanford defeated No. 21 California 79-64
on Sunday to sweep a home-and-home series.
Amber Orrange added 13 points for the Cardinal (21-1, 10-0 Pac-12), who have
won 20 in a row since their lone loss of the season to Connecticut on Nov.
Brittany Boyd had 20 points, six rebounds and six assists for California
(14-7, 6-4), which has dropped four of its last six.
Reshanda Gray made a layup and Mikayla Lyles nailed a 3-pointer to bring Cal
within 39-32 with 17:18 left, but Stanford answered as Ogwumike scored four
during a 6-2 swing to extend the margin to 45-34. The Cardinal led by as many
as 19 down the stretch.
Stanford led 35-25 at the break in the second meeting between the rivals in a
four-day span. Stanford beat Cal 70-64 at home on Thursday.
