BRUNSWICK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Many Mainers are happily bleary-eyed this day after Game 6 of the World Series. But just imagine if you were actually in the ballpark Wednesday night to watch the Red Sox capture their first World Series title at Fenway since 1918.
Chris and Sarah McGinn are that lucky. Chris called in a few favors and somehow managed to score free tickets for his wife's birthday. They say the game was magical, the fans were so happy, and the win was surreal.
"People didn't believe it happened," Chris said. "Everyone around us was so happy and positive."
The McGinns said everyone was feeling positive energy all night, especially after the Sox jumped out to an early lead. But no one wanted to jinx it, and the tension built until that final 3rd strike.
"Aside from getting married, the birth of my children, this was one of the greatest experiences of my life," Chris said.
